Karin's Personal Page

Here's a bit about me...

Inspirit Artist, Master Guidance Coach, Author, Creator, Writer.

Horse enthusiast, equestrian, kayaker, runner, cat lover, photographer, yoga fan.

Social activist, nature lover, healer, friend, intuitive soul.

My favorite activity is to ride my horse "Link" as the sun is setting into the mountains. This is truly inspiring... There is a cool story about how I found Link - or - how he found me. He's only 3 years old and quite an old soul, very mellow and not easily rattled by anything. So much can be learned from horses, they are truly healing. I created a blog about our story. One of my favorite books is "The Tao of Equus" by Linda Kohanov. It echoes many of my beliefs about the horse and human connection.

Oh, before I forget, my name is German and is pronounced Karine or Ka-r-iin. (Not Karen)

I am German-Canadian (born and raised in Rosenheim) and live in Kelowna, British Columbia. I'm proud to be Canadian. I was 15 when my parents, brother and I came to Canada. That is now a long time ago!

We have two cats, Mira and Karma both rescued from the SPCA.

"Many Angles of Unity"
Scraperboard, 11"x13"

This piece expresses my passion of our interconnectedness of nature and each other.
Notice the two horses?

My passion of healing art turned into a business venture I never thought or imagined. Life has a way of presenting itself sometimes in ways that you don't expect! I wanted to be a writer and artist ever since I was very young. But I was always told, artists and writers don't make any money by my parents. They were very practical.

So I went to school, graduated and went back to school several times: First time I studied to become a Preschool Teacher, worked in the field for four years, then went back to study Social Work, graduated with an honors degree, worked as a counsellor for a couple years, then took up Life Coaching with CoachU and had my practice for nine years. In between I studied a bit of Feng Shui, Art courses, Art Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, NLP, and many other interesting things.

I also went through a major life transition, had a spiritual awakening and a personal transition. All the while, my art was with me as I expressed myself through pain, confusion, loss, sadness to hope, love and joy. I began to channel healing art while exploring my own spiritual journey through writing in my journal, working with angel cards, meditating, doing yoga, and reading spiritual books. I had a huge 'coming out' experience in my early thirties, which included my art (which I was too afraid to show), spirituality, career, personal direction, and love life. I'm happy to say I'm now exactly where I want to be - out there, courageous, happy and content.

"Energy and Light"
Acrylic 24"x36"

This piece was painted the week of September 11th, 2001. I dedicated this painting to hope and a healing world.

I believe that in this life and world, our souls want to be healed, whole and light. When looking at my paintings, I challenge you to see new perceptions. Each painting is a metaphor to be viewing life situations from different angles. I love that my paintings have become transformational, guiding people in their healing journey.

If you are on a healing journey, I wish you well. May you be guided to where you need to be.

Thank you for connecting and reading my story, viewing my art and looking for deeper meaning in your life.

Wishing you peace and joy,

"Free Your Spirit"

This painting has personal meaning as
my mother survived cancer.

"Truth Unveiling"
Mixed Media 36"x36"

I dedicated this piece to a friend and artist, who died, yet her spirit still illuminates my soul.
